Driving on the 301 road to Parrita, we can see some ecosystems of these, along of Río Candelaria, the most important river in the region, it flows through down the mountains until Pacific Coast. In its greats length several habits are formed, so they give shelter to many species in.

Recently, on the passage of the river under the bridge in Salitral place, we have seen Waterbird and Heron, that we had never seen before on this point of the river.

Stands motionless on a rock was a solitary big Heron. Plumage finely barred with buff, facial skin and bare sides of throat yellow. Male and female have the same plumage, only when they young are barred with yellow and black. Legs, long and strong dull greenish.
